On June 19, 2023, we welcomed four professors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Public Health (SJTU-SPH) to Kyoto University School of Public Health (KUSPH).

First, Prof. Yuichi Imanaka, Dean of KUSPH, gave a welcoming remark to the guests from SJTU-SPH. Next, Dr. Huang Rong, Executive Dean of SJTU-SPH gave an introductory lecture about the School using the power points slides. Then, Dr. Ayako Kohno gave an introductory explanation about KUSPH. After that, Dr. Masatsugu Sakata gave a detailed explanation about Department of Health Promotion and Human Behavior. We continued our discussions over lunchtime, together with Prof. Naoki Kondo from Department of Social Epidemiology, and Prof. Taku Iwami from Department of Preventive Services of KUSPH. Overall, the colleagues from SJTU-SPH and five faculty members from KUSPH attended this event.

In the afternoon, the delegates attended a lecture of “Social Epidemiology”. The lecture was on multistage modeling in social epidemiology. We hope that this will become a new beginning of a friendly research collaboration between SJTU-SPH and KUSPH.
