In this study, they evaluated the efficacy of a multicomponent intervention with cognitive components for women with moderate to severe overactive bladder. A total of 79 patients were randomized to the multicomponent intervention group (n = 39) or the waiting list group (n = 40). They examined HRQOL score, which was assessed by the Overactive Bladder Questionnaire (OAB-q) and specific for overreactive bladder. The change in HRQOL total score from baseline to week 13 was 23.9 points in the intervention group and 11.3 points in the waiting list group (the difference between the two groups were 12.6 points (95% CI, 6.6-18.6 points)). This result showed that HRQOL score in the intervention group improved compared to that of the waiting list group.
This study was published online in the international journal, JAMA Network Open on March 14th, 2024 (in Japan time).
