Holding a Short-term Intensive Workshop on Qualitative Meta-Synthesis

A short-term intensive workshop on Qualitative Meta-Synthesis was held at the Kyoto University School of Public Health, for four days from September 24 to 27, 2024. This workshop was held by Professor Pranee Liamputtong from VinUniversity in Vietnam as the guest lecturer.
Professor Liamputtong is a world authority on qualitative research and has written many books and papers on qualitative research methods.
In this workshop, participants learned about the meta-synthesis of qualitative data through a combination of lectures and hands-on group work. The sessions covered key topics such as understanding meta-synthesis, critically appraising qualitative research papers, applying thematic analysis, and writing a meta-synthesis paper. Participants examined previous meta-synthesis studies and worked in groups to develop and write their own meta-synthesis papers. It concluded with participants presenting their completed meta-synthesis projects, receiving feedback, and engaging in final reflections.
